Let me start off this post by saying there was no Killer Whale attack today. There was a missed trick, but no attack.

Is America really THAT bored today that we need something to call a "tragedy"?

Here's what happened. Today at Sea World, a female Killer Whale was doing a show with her trainer. Don't listen to news stations when they say she has a history of attacks; she has a history of not listening to her trainers. She never ONCE attacked or hurt a trainer. (She's a new mom for god's sakes, of COURSE there are gonna be some ignored commands.) Today, she dove under with her trainer to throw him up in the air like the routine calls for, only this time, she didn't come up right away. She stayed there for about a minute, took him back up, and did it one more time. Google the video for yourself and see if it looks ANYTHING like an attack.

Okay, the whale STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A TRICK. Look, Trainers go through tests before getting their positions, a minute under water doesn't EVEN warrent the term "attack". He broke his foot. That sucks, I know, and the Trainer did an awesome job calming the whale down and being calm, and acting like nothing different. But is that a tragedy? Broken bones suck, and I feel for the guy. But a TRAGEDY? I heard that word used so many times that my blood boiled over.

One mom comaplined to the news station that it was her daughter's 6th birthday, and she didn't want her seeing that. Oh good lord, seeing WHAT?? First off, that's Sea World. You run the risk of that happening, and it's of no fault of ANYONE's. Second, what is she so devestated that her kids saw a whale miss a stupid trick? Good lord. People overdramticized this SO MUCH. One lady went as far as to say "There needs to be a system in place. When it's between the trainer and Shamu, Shamu's gotta go." This was by fat the most retarted, redneck, idiot-born-on-Uncle-Hick's-farm thing ever saud, so I won't even touch it.

So I have one thing to say: America, something bad doesn't ALWAYS HAVE TO BE HAPPENING. So stop being bored a blowing a stupid missed trick out of proportion. Thank you.
